Miss Helen started dancing at the age of 3 and never stopped! 

Helen attended a local dancing school in Leicestershire, England where she trained as a young dancer exploring many different dance styles and gained her graded and vocational examinations in both the RAD and ISTD syllabi. At the age of 19, Helen was accepted to Merseyside Dance and Drama Centre to train professionally. After 3 years training, Helen graduated with a distinction in both the Teacher Training Course and the Professional Dance and Musical Theatre Course. Whilst here, Helen gained full teaching status with the ISTD in genres; Imperial Classical Ballet, Modern Theatre, Jazz, Tap Dance, National Dance, Disco/Freestyle/Rock'n'Roll, with LAMDA; Musical Theatre studies and Drama and studied to a professional level in Modern Ballroom, Latin American Dance, Hip Hop & Commercial, Contemporary, Double work and Pas De Deux. 

Helen has over 12 years of teaching experience, including teaching at a prestigious university in Wales, UK and experience working as an Artistic and Executive Director in Alberta, Canada.   

Helen's passion and love of both dance and teaching ensures she continues to develop her career to be the best teacher possible; she works to gain further teaching accreditation's when she isn't busy at the studio. Apart from Helen's internationally recognized teaching status with the ISTD, Helen's additional teaching certification's include being Acrobatic Arts Module 2 certified, Acro Dance Teachers Association certified, certified with Progressive Ballet Technique and UDO street dance credited. Helen is also a member of the Professional Adjudicators Alliance.

TIffany Torres (Miss Tiffany)

George Brown College - Graduate of Dance

Miss Tiffany has received extensive training over the past 10+ years in many styles. Her unprecedented passion of dance is evident through not only performing, but also teaching and creating choreography to inspire and guide her students. Tiffany is a received graduate in Commercial Dance from George Brown College.

Proceeding her education, she has performed, competed, and been featured in music videos, live shows/TV and worldwide commercials. Tiffany’s continued training has been with top choreographers from LA and Toronto. She has been a member of numerous dance companies - specializing in Heels, Jazz Funk and Hip Hop. Her most memorable performance was in the Pan American games Opening and Closing ceremonies. Tiffany’s experience teaching in school settings ranging from daycare to high school, community centres and adult drop in classes, allows her to be versatile and adaptable in a classroom setting for all ages and levels. Tiffany’s passion for dance translates into her classes, allowing for a safe and positive environment.

Jody Birch (Miss Jody)

CPT, RDH, CDA

Jody is very versatile and wears “many hats” as a certified personal fitness trainer, registered dental hygienist, certified dental assistant/administrator and a proud mother to 3 children.

This busy mama is no stranger to working out in her free time! She is very passionate about promoting physical activity for over all health.

Jody is currently practicing full time as a dental hygienist, as well as teaching at May Dance, where she leads group fitness classes and offers one-on-one personal training sessions. Miss Jody recently took over our events management in which she plays a vital role of organizing and hosting specialist dance and fitness themed events, including our super fun dance birthday parties.

Jody has a genuine kind nature to her, she is extremely energetic, insanely creative and works hard to be a positive role model for all those around her. Her ability to interact with children of all ages, adults and seniors is a great asset to May Dance.
